Its unusual white indigo glaze and elegant geometric profile - designed in collaboration with Keita Hanazawa, founder of Mag Design Lab - perfectly complement a satisfyingly coarse texture that calls to mind the line's earthen origins. Each porcelain piece is crafted from granite clay locally harvested in Toki, Japan, and fired in a 150-year-old kiln by master craftspeople.

Yamatsu Teaware

The craftworks of Shinzangama Yamatsu Co. can be traced all the way back to 1868 - the very first year of the Meiji era - when the company began creating Mino ware ceramics, a regional specialty. The clay around Toki, the home of Shinzangama Yamatsu, comes from granite eroded over millennia by wind, rain and the flow of the local Shonai River.
